WOW, I wish you could have heard my prayer word for word last night, as well as, a double one this morning (one in bed and one in shower)..... GOD didn't wait to speak and I love the words it was again..... This whole "Be Still, and Know".... along with "Waiting with Hope".... HE can continue to speak over and over to me.... It just reaffirms that HE is really doing something in my life right now, and has a really big plan for me here, in this place, for such a time as now.... even if my heart cries at least once a day.... it's ALL good, Praise You, Jesus!!!! Thanks for Loving me so, GOD!! And for speaking and answering prayers!
I opened my email and here is part of what was in a message sent to me today.... Again HE speaks with "Be still, and Know....", my answer back to HIM is I am Lord and it is why I have so much Trust and Peace in and with YOU at the moment. Really like never before.... I love growing more and more with YOU!!
"Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it." I Thessalonians 5:24
Have you experienced the peace of God?
Be silent, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.
Psalm 46:6 NLT
Be still my soul
Be still, my soul! thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as He has the past,
Thy hope, they confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul! the waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.
Be Still, My Soul (v2) , Katharina Amalia von Schlegel (1697-?)
Whatever your circumstances, if you believe the first line of this great hymn, you will be at rest. In the midst of the psalmist's troubles, the Lord said, "Be still, and know that I am God."...
~God's Daily Promises, Wednesday, January 26, adapted from The One Year® Book of Hymns by Mark Norton and Robert Brown, Tyndale House Publishers (1995), entry for January 10.
And then tonight reading Streams in the Desert for January 26:
The Bible has a great deal to say about waiting for God, and the teaching cannot be too strongly emphasized. We so easily become impatient with God's delays. Yet much of our trouble in life is the result of our restless, and sometimes reckless, haste.
We cannot wait for the fruit to ripen, but insist on picking it while it is still green. We cannot wait for the answers to our prayers, although it may take many years for the things we pray for to be prepared for us. We are encouraged to walk with God, but often God walks very slowly. Yet there is also another side to this teaching: God often waits for us.
Quite often we fail to receive the blessing He has ready for us because we are not moving forward with Him. While it is true we miss many blessings by not waiting for God, we also lose numerous blessings by overwaiting. There are times when it takes strength simply to sit still, but there are also times when we are to move forward with a confident step.
Many of God's promises are conditional, requiring some initial action on our part. Once we begin to obey, He will begin to bless us....
...The ten lepers Jesus healed were told to show themselves to the priest, and "as they went, they were cleansed" (Luke 17:14). If they had waited to see the cleansing come to their bodies before leaving, they would never have seen it. God was waiting to heal them, and the moment their faith began to work, the blessing came....
When the Israelites were... commanded to "go forward" (Exodus 14:15,kjv). No longer was it their duty to wait, but to rise up from bended knee and "go forward" with heroic faith....
It was a great reminder that God's timeline is not mine. HE is the one who called me to "go forward", actually the words came more in the form of JUMP.... and I did, at times it doesn't make sense whey I'm here in Buffalo.... But, I am!! I rose from bended knee, and broken heart to "go forward" with Faith.... Trusting.... Being Still, and Knowing.... All why Waiting with Hope!!.... I hope GOD isn't still waiting for me, and it is more me waiting for HIM..... But, I'll Wait Forever for HIM if need be.
I don't ever even know if I'm truly giving justice to ALL that GOD continues to do. All I do know is it is in moments like this that I KNOW HE loves me and is working in my life.... HE is Waiting to see the Blessings happen that HE has planned for my life.... HE KNOWS those desires, longings, thoughts, etc..... and though I wait upon HIM with Hope, HE too is waiting!!
This started as my online journal of the journey GOD was taking me on to teach in Seoul, South Korea and now continues with where HE is leading me after there. My goal in life is to have my life reflect Christ, sometimes without ever even having to say a word. After all, the best gift we have to share is who HE has created us to be.
"Lord... give me the gift of faith to be renewed and shared with others each day. Teach me to live this moment only, looking neither to the past with regret, nor the future with apprehension. Let love be my aim and my life a prayer." ~Roseann Alexander-Isham

Keeper
I received this as a message today from someone who thinks I am a "Keeper", only sharing part of it here:
".... Sometimes, what we care about most gets all used up and goes away... never to return. So... While we have it... it's best we love it... And care for it... And fix it when it's broken... And heal it when it's sick.
This is true... For marriage... And old cars... And children with bad report cards... Dogs and cats with bad hips... And aging parents... And grandparents.
We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it. Some things we keep. Like a best friend that moved away or a classmate we grew up with.
There are just some things that make life important, like people we know who are special... And so, we keep them close!"

Good friends are like stars.... You don't always see them, but you know they are always there. Keep them close! So true, I recall friends I haven't heard from in a while or who stay silent. You keep them close in thought and when they do call or reenter your life, well you DO KNOW they were always there even if you couldn't see them :)
However, what about those who you want to keep close, but you can't? Just curious, I mean you can keep them close in your heart, in your thoughts.... but, what if they walk away? How do you keep them close then.
