I received this as a message today from someone who thinks I am a "Keeper", only sharing part of it here:
".... Sometimes, what we care about most gets all used up and goes away... never to return. So... While we have it... it's best we love it... And care for it... And fix it when it's broken... And heal it when it's sick.
This is true... For marriage... And old cars... And children with bad report cards... Dogs and cats with bad hips... And aging parents... And grandparents.
We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it. Some things we keep. Like a best friend that moved away or a classmate we grew up with.
There are just some things that make life important, like people we know who are special... And so, we keep them close!"

Good friends are like stars.... You don't always see them, but you know they are always there. Keep them close! So true, I recall friends I haven't heard from in a while or who stay silent. You keep them close in thought and when they do call or reenter your life, well you DO KNOW they were always there even if you couldn't see them :)
However, what about those who you want to keep close, but you can't? Just curious, I mean you can keep them close in your heart, in your thoughts.... but, what if they walk away? How do you keep them close then.
This started as my online journal of the journey GOD was taking me on to teach in Seoul, South Korea and now continues with where HE is leading me after there. My goal in life is to have my life reflect Christ, sometimes without ever even having to say a word. After all, the best gift we have to share is who HE has created us to be.
"Lord... give me the gift of faith to be renewed and shared with others each day. Teach me to live this moment only, looking neither to the past with regret, nor the future with apprehension. Let love be my aim and my life a prayer." ~Roseann Alexander-Isham
